Reservation and Event Calendar

To request a date for your group to visit the observatory, follow the 3 simple steps below. Or, use our calendar to find special events at LTO.

STEP 1: Find an open day and time in the calendar below. A white space indicates an open date. Clicking on an open date on the calendar has no effect, it is for viewing purposes only. Use navigation arrows < or > to change months as needed. The observatory is closed annually during July for maintenance and construction projects, and for the safety of our visitors we cannot schedule groups during this time period. After finding an available time and date, continue to steps 2 and 3 below the calendar.

Please allow 2 weeks lead time for your requested date. LTO needs this time to contact our volunteers to staff your event.

An important note from the board before submitting your request:
At LTO, our mission is to interest people, particularly children, in the sciences, using astronomy as a teaching tool. To this end, our materials and presentations approach astronomical phenomena such as the creation of the universe, star formation, planetary formation (including earth) and the size and scope of the universe, from a scientific perspective. While we respect the rights of our guests to hold their own views on such matters, we do not tailor programs to conform to any views other than current scientific thinking.

STEP 3: Click on the "Send" button below and you're done. We'll get back to you within a few days with a confirming email - thanks!
