Reservation and Event Calendar

To request a date for your group to visit the observatory, follow the 3 simple steps below. Or, use our calendar to find special events at LTO.

STEP 1: Find an open time slot in the calendar below. Use navigation arrows < or > to change months as needed. Clicking on an open date on the calendar has no effect, it is for viewing purposes only.

Notes: Currently, LTO volunteer staff is capable of hosting only one visitor group per night. The observatory is closed annually during July for maintenance and construction projects. August 2026 dates are now available for scheduling. September 2026 dates will be opened up in mid to late August.

Please allow at least 2 weeks lead time for LTO to staff your visit.

After finding an available date, continue to steps 2 and 3 below the calendar.

An important note from the board before submitting your request:
At LTO, our mission is to interest people, particularly children, in the sciences, using astronomy as a teaching tool. To this end, our materials and presentations approach astronomical phenomena such as the creation of the universe, star formation, planetary formation (including earth) and the size and scope of the universe, from a scientific perspective. While we respect the rights of our guests to hold their own views on such matters, we do not tailor programs to conform to any views other than current scientific thinking.

STEP 3: Click on the "Send" button below and you're done. We'll get back to you within a few days with an email regarding acceptance of your request- thanks! Once accepted, reservations are then confirmed at a later date when we have volunteers scheduled to staff your reservation. We strive to get confirmation emails sent as early as possible. However, they may be delayed until 48 hours prior to your reservation date.
